Ryan Hall — Founder, Parallel
Ryan Hall
Ryan Hall is a combat veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. He later led a joint US / Korean Military SWAT Unit. After leaving the military, he faced the same loss of identity that many veterans experience when structure and mission disappear. Fitness and music became the tools that helped him rebuild his life and ultimately, the foundation for helping others rebuild theirs.
Since transitioning out of the Army, Ryan has dedicated himself to coaching and community-building. Between 2017 and 2024, he built one of California's most in-demand training communities and created large scale fundraising experiences centered on movement and music. His work during this time helped raise over $300,000 in support of veteran initiatives.
In 2024, Ryan, along with his wife Maria and their dog Nalu, entered a season of exploration that expanded the vision behind Parallel. Ryan immersed himself in scuba diving, fitness, and local communities throughout Southeast Asia, where he gained a deeper perspective on wellness, recovery, and the various ways people discover purpose. Ryan brought new insights back to the U.S. to begin the next chapter of his work.
For Ryan, Parallel was born out of necessity and represents a continuation of his service. Through wellness events, retreats, and music-driven experiences, Ryan strives to expand the Onward Ops network to help veterans successfully transition into civilian life through true mentorship and support. He believes we all have a special opportunity to build stronger humans, leaders, and communities together.
Outside of Parallel, Ryan finds inspiration in adventure, nature, and the unknown. He feels most alive exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations with his family and leading motivated individuals through challenge.
